What people are saying about Kahina

Her performances/costumes are beautiful and fit for young and old alike. As such, I highly recommend Kelly aka "Kahina" as a performer and instructor. She is a "class act" who will give you her best. You will not be disappointed!

I want to thank you once again for dancing at our 50th Anniversary party. You are good, everyone was delighted with your performance. We hope you are still dancing for our 55th.

I have known Kahina for almost 2 years and in that time I have seen her grow into a very strong performer, instructor and event producer.  As an instructor it is vital to continue one's education. Kahina not only teaches this concept to her existing students but lives by example.  She is the perpetual student, which I believe is the sign of a wonderful teacher. Kahina is a special lady who brings a sincere love of the arts to all she does!

Kahina is a great teacher, instructor and friend. She has a way to make us all proud of what we have and work with what we are and have fun. She also has the amazing gift to teach and is very good at what she does.

Kahina came prepared and was both professional and knowledgeable.  Her work was so well received that we are currently making arrangements for her to come back for an encore performance.  I will always remember the scene of our women’s group dancing on the lawn on a beautiful summer night, indifferent to any neighbor’s curious looks.

Kahina began dancing in 1997 at the YMCA in Appleton under Kathy Kesler. Since then she has attended many seminars and workshops including Morocco, Ma Shuqa, Jim Boz, Cassandra, and Bozenka plus many other great instructors. In an area where there was little opportunity to go and study with professional dancers, being able to see and learn from these great teachers and performers was not to be missed. They inspired, motivated and expanded Kahina's world of belly dance. Kahina still attends as many seminars as possible and travels to take classes with Cassandra and Stefanie Masters. Of course VHS and now DVD have made it easier to learn from dancers all around the world, but nothing compares with the feedback and excitement of being there in person. Kahina is currently taking Jasmin Jahal's certification. She has completed the level 1 and will complete level 2 this August.
Kahina started performing belly grams for various parties in 1998. She has performed in many public and private events since that first belly gram. There have been the cancer fund raisers for friends at work and strangers, weddings, retirements, and birthdays, and so many more occasions.

Kahina lives in Clintonville with her 4 cats Harley, Diva, Pirate and Cleopatra. When not dancing you can find Kahina either in her garden or reading.
